Hi,
I was trying to install two packages from your site:
(1). dvipsk-5.58f
(2). xdvik-18f
After configure, I "make" and "make install" for both of them. And they
were successfully installed. When I tried to run them, I got problem that
they are not able to find the fonts and initial file. So I went back to
modify the files like "./make/paths.make" and ../kpathsea/texmf.cnf",
according to the tex3.14 package obtained from the ftp site
"ftp.cs.umn.edu" under /usr/pub/latex. After successfully compiled and
installed. When I tried to run those programs, I got the error message:
Segment Fault. Core dumped!
I also got console warning saying that my root file system is full, so I
move the dvi file to /tmp where I have more than 50M available. Then run
xdvi again, but I still got the same error message. And this time the
core file has size about 10M.
By the way, I'm compiling these two programs by using GCC-2.6.3 in SUN
SPARC2 workstation running SOLARIS2.3. I have 64M RAM inside.
Could you please tell me what did I go wrong? Because I still don't know
if my TeX is running OK or not. And I've been looking forward to use
xdvi or dvips to check it out. And one more thing, before I tried these
two programs, I also tried to install another package dvips-5516, which I
can generate PostScript file but no view can see this file, not gs,
ghostview, imagetool or even tgif or xfig.
Yout quick response will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
